Planning permission has been granted to replace the windows and external doors to a Victorian property on Church Side in the Stamford Green Conservation Area in Epsom.

Despite the sensitivity of the area and stringent planning restrictions, the installation of double glazing has been found to be acceptable providing:

1.  the window sashes are of the traditional timber hung type matching the '2 over 2' sash windows of the neighbouring properties

2.  the glass sits into the glazing bars, ie. the glazing bars should not be stuck on 

3.  the double glazing is of the slim profile type, not exceeding 12mm overall thickness
